Supporting Our Backyard

Dynamic Business Technologies has Partnered with and donated Datto Managed Wireless Access Points to Our Backyard, Car to Home Project an Initiative of Macquarie Care.

Our Backyard- Car to Home Project is a designated private car park space that allows men, couples, women or families who are sleeping in their cars a place to park and sleep, in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.

Our Backyard offers access to bathroom and kitchen facilities in the aim of making life a little easier.

Homelessness is a complex issue and affects over 100,000 Australians each day. There are approximately 2000 people who are homeless in the Hunter Region.

The purpose of the donated Managed Wifi Access is to allow people staying onsite to access basic services on the Internet. Services like looking for jobs, staying in contact with Friends & Family, Registering with Centrelink or other required support services.

The guest Managed Wifi is only accessible during the hours the program operates and has been restricted by bandwidth and filtering to ensure its used for its primary purpose only.

“The partnership we have with Dynamic Business Technologies has enabled our homeless guests to access WIFI during operational hours. Our guests are able to stay connected with family & friends, they’ll be able to report to various government agencies and whilst they cannot download music or stream videos they’ll be connected to the rest of the world. We appreciate that technology is something that DBT excels in and their partnership enables us to continue to connect with kindness those who are most disadvantaged in our community. Thank you to Mark and the Team at DBT
